
Winter Rules

General | Lift and Place anywhere on the course except for ball in a Penalty Area. A ball lying on the fairway or closely mown grass may be lifted, cleaned and replaced within 6 inches of where the ball was lying. The ball must not be placed nearer the hole. A ball lying in the rough may be lifted, cleaned and dropped within 6 inches. The ball must not be dropped nearer the hole. A player may place or drop the ball only once, after the ball has been placed or dropped it is in play. Relief cannot be taken under this Local Rule for a ball lying in a Penalty Area. |

Use of Mats | A player may use a mat anywhere in the fairway or rough, the mat must be placed within 6 inches of where the ball lay and no nearer the hole. |
Qualifying Rounds – Note: | The above Local Rule only applies to ‘friendly’ games. For handicap qualifying general play (supplementary), scores will only be accepted when: – No temporary greens are in play. – Mats must not be used for qualifying scores. – Placing is only used for closely mown areas. (Lift clean and drop may not be used in the rough, the ball must be played as it lies.) The Local Rule only applies for a ball lying in a closely mown area. |
Ropes and supports | Ropes surrounding tees and greens are in place to protect the course. Please do not take trollies or buggies beyond the ropes. Ropes and supports are deemed movable obstructions, relief is available using Rule 15.2a. Where a ball hits a rope or support, the stroke may be replayed. |
Temporary Greens | When proper greens are in play, temporary greens are deemed to be a ‘wrong green’, relief must be taken in accordance with Rule 13.1f. If a player makes a stroke at a ball lying on a ‘wrong green’ they will receive a 2-stroke penalty and must correct the error. Failure to correct the error will result in disqualification. Tractor/Tyre Ruts There is no automatic relief from tractor/tyre ruts. Should conditions warrant, a special notification will be issued. |
